Independent product development, built around evidence.
WTF Product Development LLC is built around direct problem-solving, plain-English product intent, controlled disclosure, proposed external customer research, and possible manufacturer-led development.
We are not presenting ourselves as a fabrication shop, licensed engineering firm, or mass manufacturer. Qualified outside professionals handle regulated engineering, physical build, testing, compliance and production work when a project reaches those gates.
WTF design principles
- Easy use + easy setup
- Durability and serviceability
- Replaceable wear parts
- Middle-market value
- Base product must already be good
- Evidence before confidence
- Controlled IP disclosure
- Partner-native design
Practical experience is part of the filter.
The founder’s background includes approximately a decade in high-speed manufacturing as a back-end mechanic and trainer, plus oilfield-related work, warehouse and material handling, outside sales, and commercial or industrial cleaning.
That experience does not prove a new idea will work. It does help WTF spot wasted motion, hard-to-service equipment, training problems, avoidable complexity, and the difference between something that looks clever and something people could actually live with every day.
- Start with the real failure
- Favor simpler service and repair
- Respect the person doing the work
- Do not confuse a paper concept with proof
- Bring in qualified specialists when the problem leaves WTF’s lane
Better products should mean less waste—not more junk, plastic, or pointless work.
WTF was started to solve real problems in a way that respects people's time, materials, money, and families. That purpose now has its own page.
The WTF method.
Start with the failure, not the gadget. Understand the job, attack assumptions, develop the simplest strong architecture, then try to break it before somebody else does.
Find the failure
Repeated complaints, wasted effort, safety issues, poor serviceability and bad value are all signals.
Develop the fix
Every meaningful component has to justify its existence.
Check it three ways
Separate review passes should point in the same direction before a paper concept is treated as internally stable.
Move to evidence
Customer demand, IP review, engineering, supplier quotes and physical tests control the next gate.
Built for secure remote-first operation.
WTF is intentionally structured so research, written product direction, evidence planning, IP coordination, documentation, partner communication and commercialization can be managed remotely. Physical engineering, fabrication, testing and production move to qualified partners when required.
Research, concept architecture, illustrations, written requirements, proposed validation plans, change control and commercialization strategy.
CAD detail, analysis, fabrication, prototypes, certifications, testing, sourcing, manufacturing.
Evidence, test reports, photos/video, samples, costs and failure data drive the next decision.
